FACES supports project proposals from our Salvadoran partners. Some of the projects we have helped fund are:
We also accompany sister community relationships between churches and schools in the United States and rural and semi-urban Salvadoran communities. Sister community relationships are built on a foundation of mutual care and familiarity, and often result in small initiatives like scholarship programs, community-managed microloans, alternative economy projects, and nutrition programs. Some of the sister community relationships we have begun to accompany are:
- Madison, WI Sister Community Group and the Women’s Committee in Torola, Morazán
- Fr. Tom Royer and friends (Champaign, IL) and Calavera (Cacaopera, Morazán)
- Detroit Sister Community Group and the Monseñor Romero community (Jocoaitique, Morazán)
Proposals for project support are accepted on an invitation-only basis.
