The community of El Ocotillio, Morazan, El Salvador is involved in a sister relationship with Good Shepherd Church (Acton, MA) and Boston College. This relationship began in 1998 and through the efforts and collaboration of these groups, many students have earned an education and given back to their community.

During their mid-semester break, the students painted a mural on the school in the community to bring awareness to caring for the environment
Scholarships provided are awarded to students of varying academic levels who must submit their grades to a the Ocotillio community committee and maintain good attandance. Continued learning and growth is a result of nineteen years of community development and the strong relationship between El Ocotillio, Good Shepherd Church and Boston College.
For legal purposes, Boston College needs to send their scholarship funding through a legal entity; this is where FACES steps in! We are pleased to be a part of this sister community relationship, including the scholarship program, community accompaniment, and youth empowerment.
